Two dominant athletes collide as Tessa Blanchard faces Taya Valkyrie at Bound for Glory
In order for Impact Wrestling to have a stacked Bound for Glory card, they needed to add the two best female wrestlers on the roster, maybe even in wrestling in general. Tessa Blanchard will defend her Knockouts Championship against Taya Valkyrie.
For the first time since March, Taya returned to Impact programming this past Thursday, while the company was in Mexico. She hasn’t been seen since her feud with Rosemary ended. After Tessa’s match against Faby Apache, the champion made a bold claim that nobody in the world could touch her. That was when Taya, who has gained a following in Mexico, showed up via the video screen to challenge her to a match at Bound for Glory.

On the heels of women’s wrestling getting the recognition it deserves in 2018, Impact might have hit the jackpot here. These two hard-hitting females have proven time and time again they are elite inside the ring. When they face off, it will feature a new age in the Knockouts division, one fans may relate to the Awesome Kong/Gail Kim years.
Impact Wrestling’s Bound for Glory PPV takes place on October 14 inside the Melrose Ballroom in New York City. The main event features Austin Aries defending the Impact World Championship against Taya’s husband, Johnny Impact.
