Temple Eyeing Two Seed In AAC Tournament
The Temple men’s basketball team is fighting for the second seed in the American Athletic Conference postseason tournament.
The Temple men’s basketball team is fighting for the second seed in the American Athletic Conference postseason tournament. The Owls are coming off a 66-54 win over Houston, in which junior guard Quenton DeCosey led the team with 16 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. DeCosey received weekly honors being named to the Conference honor roll team.
Temple is one of three teams battling for the final three byes in the first round of the tournament. Among them is SMU, UConn, and Memphis. Memphis needs to defeat UConn and Cincinnati in its final two games to remain a top four seed.
Tulsa is one win away from claiming its second straight conference regular-season title, as co-champions with SMU. However two wins in their last two games including a win over SMU will give The Golden Hurricane the sole crown as regular season champions.
The Owls have two regular season games left including an away game against East Carolina on Thursday at 7p.m. ETand UConn on Saturday at the Liacouras Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. The American Athletic Conference tournament is set to begin on March 12 in Hartford, Connecticut.
