The deal doesn’t mean he can’t compete in other promotions. PW Insider is reporting that MJF will still be making his scheduled appearances for Major League Wrestling, where he is under another deal. That will be taking place inside the Melrose Ballroom in New York. It is unknown what his status will be with MLW once AEW on TNT debuts.

Forming a friendship with AEW Executive VP Cody Rhodes, MJF has been featured on a number of platforms for the promotion, providing a fans with a taste of what he can do when motivated.
If AEW is serious about becoming a different, competitive promotion, they need young stars to carry them. Holding onto MJF is a move that will be considered a jackpot choice in the long run.
