Q&A with Archbishop Wood Guard Rahsool Diggins
Rahsool Diggins is a four-star recruit point guard from Archbishop Wood, ranked as one of the top 60 Juniors in the country. He lead the Archbishop Wood Vikings to a 22-5 record and the District 12 5A Title before the season ended due to the Coronavirus. Diggins holds an extensive list of Division 1 offers and interests from some of the top schools around the country. I caught up with him to discuss his junior year and his recruitment.
Double G Sports: How do you think your season went this year? What were you able to show as a player?
Rahsool Diggins: I think my season went well besides the fact of not winning the Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) Championship. I showed a lot this year, such as scoring ability, passing, getting my guys to the right spot, and mainly being a leader. I feel as though that was a huge step for me.
DGS: What do you think you need to improve on for next season?
RD: Getting stronger, better mid-range game to keep the defense honest. Competing on the defensive end as much as I compete on the offensive side.
DGS: What colleges have offered you?
RD: Miami, Seton Hall, UConn, Wake Forest, Saint Louis, Florida, Massachusetts, Xavier, Virginia Tech, Penn State, DePaul, St. Bonaventure, St. Peter’s, Rutgers, St. Joe’s, Iona, Quinnipiac, La Salle, Siena, Hofstra, Denver, and Bryant.
DGS: Which schools are recruiting you the hardest and what do you like about those schools?
RD: Honestly I’m even with all the schools right now, nobody is above the other, I’m just being patient right now.
DGS: How were your visits at Seton Hall, Rutgers, and DePaul?
RD: Seton Hall basketball was very intense, didn’t really get to see the campus. Rutgers was beautiful and had a new facility that was being built. DePaul campus was nice. Its downtown Chicago, so its different in a good way. Great food also.
DGS: What have the coaches said they like about your game?
RD: The way I score, but can also get others involved. They love how I compete and they love my peace and demeanor.
DGS: Do you have any visits planned?
RD: Not yet, due to Coronavirus.
DGS: When do you think you will pick a school?
RD: Striving for the beginning of my senior year.
DGS: What are your goals for senior year?
RD: Senior year goals are to win PCL and for me to get as much exposure, become an All-American, and get ready for the next level.
