PFL brings ring announcer Lillian Garcia into the fold

Joining WWE in 1999, Lillian’s voice is well-known within the sports entertainment community.

With a new season of anything comes the need for change. From a TV show to a job, doing something different helps improve everything. The Professional Fighters League is adapting for the better. One of the top ring announcers in sports entertainment today is taking her talents to the world of MMA. Lillian Garcia, a longtime WWE employee, will be the new ring announcer for the second season of the PFL. Garcia herself made the announcement official on The Ariel Helwani Show.

As she stated on her Instagram: “It’s no secret that I LOVE combat sports so now getting to be a part of the MMA world by introducing these amazing fighters in the ring who are fighting hard for an opportunity of a TITLE and ONE MILLION DOLLARS in EACH Division, is going to be unbelievably exciting.”

Lilian has been a staple for Vince McMahon’s company for a while. Starting in 1999, she was hired as a backstage interview and then as a ring announcer. Her quick wit and charm made her a true fan-favorite. Throughout her time with the company she was known for her singing, topping out an album or two. She is best known for her beautiful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” on the SmackDown after 9/11/01.

Outside of WWE, Lillian has sung the Nationa Anthem for a variety of sporting events, including the U.S. Open. When she is not entertaining the masses on TV, she is entertaining people online. Lillian hosts “Chasing Glory,” a podcast that gets personal with various wrestling stars and other personalities.

With the PFL announcing a two-year broadcast deal with ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN+, the signing made plenty of sense. While pro wrestling and MMA don’t have much in common, the use of talent has become consistent. This time, Garcia brings something a little extra to the table in this crossover: a voice to remember.
