Lindsey VanZandt makes her Madison Square Garden debut at Bellator 222 against Rizin’s Rena Kubota
As the women’s division in Bellator continues to grow, so do the ideas of inter-promotional fights
In an attempt to showcase an important partnership between two promotions, Bellator and Rizin will pit two young and hungry fighters against one another. Lindsey VanZandt will face Rena Kubota in a catchweight bout at Bellator 222 in New York City.
An atomweight by nature, VanZandt (4-1) has fought for Invicta FC in the past. She was victorious in her first official bout with Bellator at Bellator 215, a second-round TKO against Tabatha Watkins. Three of VanZandt’s wins have come by way of KO.
One of the top fighters in Rizin today, Kubota (8-2) is also hoping to go on a two-fight win streak. With a 33-5-1 record in kickboxing, Kubota is a multi-time champion in Shoot Boxing and has four wins via KO. On a rare occasion, she can grab any opponent and submit them in the most creative ways imaginable.

Both women will be fighting for momentum and bragging rights. What better place to do so than inside Madison Square Garden?
Bellator 222 takes place on June 14th and tickets are currently still available. You can buy your tickets now at the MSG box office and at Ticketmaster.com.
