Jo Inge Berget departs New York City FC
Jo Inge Berget left New York City FC. The news had been expected for weeks, then came the official announcement from the club. The Norwegian leaves New York after just a year. In his brief experience in New York, Berget scored 4 goals and 3 assists in his 23 appearances in the MLS.
It was long ago there was talk of his possible goodbye. Weeks ago the striker had been linked to the return at home after he had expressed his willingness to return to play in Europe because of the lack of adaptation to New York and in the MLS.
It’s now official that Jo Inge Berget is no longer a player from New York City FC. A choice that forces the management of New York to move as soon as possible on the market to find strikers. After David Villa, New York lost another striker and the department is always impoverishes more.
There may be news already in the next few hours, with New York City FC to be the protagonist in the market.
