Erick Silva to make his Bellator debut against Lorenz Larkin at Bellator 207
Can “The Monsoon” (Larkin) take down “The Tiger” (Silva) inside The Mohegan Sun Casino?
Another epic fight has been added to the Bellator 207 lineup. Lorenz Larkin will face off against another former UFC fighter in Erick Silva. ESPN was the first to report the news.
Silva (20-9 (1NC)) lost two fights in a row before his UFC contract expired back in December 2017. After beating Nick Barnes at Legacy Fighting Alliance 45 back in July, Silva signed with Bellator in early September. After an injury to Larkin’s previous opponent, Yaroslav Amosov, Silva ended up being next in line for a fight.
Larkin (19-7 (1NC)) last fought at Bellator 193 in January, beating Fernando Gonzalez via unanimous decision. After several years in Strikeforce and the UFC, Larkin debuted at Bellator NYC in 2017. He is 1-2 in his Bellator career, and is hoping a win against Silva could provide him a move to contendership.
While both are not a part of the Welterweight Grand Prix Tournament, this fight is considered an alternate bout in the case something goes wrong. With or without a reward, this bout should be considered one to watch, especially with the pedigree of both fighters.
