Aldo on Holloway: “This fight will happen Feb 11th”
Well, it sounds like we have a main event for UFC 208.
During media interviews Monday, UFC featherweight champion announced the unification bout with newly crowned UFC interim featherweight champion Max Holloway will take place at UFC 208 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on February 11th.
“He’s saying ‘where’s Aldo?’, you have to talk to the UFC,” Aldo said, via MMAFighting.com. “About the fight in February, I already knew that, I only didn’t know who I would fight. It was between him and Pettis, whoever won the fight. It’s not something new. This fight will happen on Feb. 11.”
With ticket sales scheduled to start Friday, the main event should be officially announced by the promotion mid-week.
Holloway won the interim title belt this past Saturday at UFC 206 after he defeated former UFC lightweight champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis via second round referee stoppage.
