After the retirement of Brennan Ward, Andre Fialho will face Javier Torres at Bellator 207
In a turn of events, Fialho will receive a new opponent at the Mohegan Sun Arena-held event
It appears Bellator 207 has gone a major makeover, thanks in large part to Brennan Ward. MMA Junkie was able to confirm that the 30 year old Ward, who was supposed to face Andre Fialho at Bellator 207, had to back out of the fight as a result of injury. They later confirmed that Ward announced his retirement after the news.
Ward (14-6) was looking to fight for the first time in 15 months before the news broke out. His last win was at Bellator 163 in 2016 against Saad Awad. Since then, Ward lost two in a row and was 1-3 in his last few fights. With a 10-6 record inside the Bellator cage, Ward, an Ithaca College Invitational Champion, leaves behind an impressive resume over various opponents.
His replacement, Javier Torres (10-4), is looking to regain any momentum he had prior to joining Bellator. Winning four straight competitive bouts before signing with Bellator, Torres lost in his debut to Neiman Gracie at Bellator 198.
Fialho (9-1), last fought in July 0f 2017, beating A.J. Matthews via unanimous decision at Bellator 181. Regardless of the opponent, the 24 year old is looking to go 3-1 in his Bellator career.
