Jake “The Snake” Roberts Making Progress

After being hospitalized for pneumonia a few days ago and the doctors finding an abnormality in his brain, Jake Roberts is making progress with his treatment.

Sinn Bodhi posted the following update on Jake “The Snake” Roberts last night:

“Jake the snake Roberts is making progress with his breathing treatments quicker than expected. Hopefully he will be off ventilator in a couple of days…he’s resilient! Today when he was awake I joked with the doctors and asked if they could give him fake boobs or at least a face transplant… Jake smiled and gave me the finger lol. Which means that he is feeling better! #FeelBetterJake”

I have been fan of Jake Roberts for years and I truly send out my prayers and best wishes to him.

Stephanie McMahon’s Open Letter to Michael Sam

Stephanie McMahon writes an open letter to the first openly gay NFL draftee Michael Sam inviting him to next week’s Raw. Stephanie wrote the letter on the WWE website:

Exhibiting class and dignity rarely shown in professional sports, Michael Sam, WWE invites you to next Monday’s Raw to speak of your struggles to succeed, lessons you have learned along the way, the courage it takes to be yourself and the prospects of your continued journey.

You are a role model, who, by example, can encourage everyone to stand up and openly be themselves.

Signed,
Stephanie McMahon

Darren Young, who is an open gay wrestler currently in WWE retweeted what some fans had to say about the open letter to Michael Sam.

“So @WWE will allow this Michael Sam guy to have an open mic but not their own @DarrenYoungWWE?”
“Ironic that @WWE is worrying about @MichaelSamNFL even tho @DarrenYoungWWE came out, works for them and they never mentioned it at all. #smh”

I really don’t see the point of WWE using airtime, to have someone talk about their distress of being an openly gay athlete. I think that continuously shedding light to his personal sexual preference takes away from his skills as an athlete and is not helpful to his progress in the NFL. It seems like WWE is desperate for press and attention from National news and they want to use the recent story of Michael Sam being released from the St. Louis Rams as a prejudice move from the NFL, and essentially make a huge story. It feels like a waste of time and it is disrespectful to Michael Sam that no one is looking at his talent. The media only wants to showcase his sexuality. Thumbs down to Stephanie with this move.
