For the eighth time in New York Rangers history, the Broadway Blueshirts will be sending a team to play in the Traverse City Hockey Tournament, played in Traverse City, Michigan.  The Tournament consists of eight teams, which will play in a Round Robin Tournament.

The Rangers are in the Ted Lindsay Division and will compete against the prospects of the Dallas Stars, the Buffalo Sabres and the Carolina Hurricanes.  Only those prospects not currently in college are eligible to play in this tournament, therefore, defenseman Brady Skjei, currently at the University of Minnesota, will not be involved.  But not to worry, for there will be a plethora of Rangers prospects to watch once the tournament begins on September 12.

In the past, with players such as current Rangers: Derek Stepan, Ryan McDonagh, Carl Hagelin and Marc Staal; the Rangers have reached the Championship Game twice in seven tournaments.

This year’s team will consist of the following Prospects:

Forwards:

Nathan Burns: 6’2”, 174, Lefty shot
Anthony Duclair: 5’11”, 185, lefty shot (there will be much more about Anthony in the months and years to come, as he has star written all over him)
Ryan Haggerty: 6’0”, 200 righty shot
Keegan Iverson: 6’0”, 219, righty shot
Michael Kantor: 6’1”, 196, righty shot
Nickolas Latta: 6’1”, 194, righty shot
Paxton Leroux: 6’3”, 200, lefty shot
Chris McCarthy: 6’1”, 190, righty shot
Bryan Moore: 6’0”, 198, lefty shot
Richard Nejezchleb: 6’2”, 203, lefty shot
Logan Nelson: 6’1”, 185, righty shot
Josh Nicholls: 6’2”, 189, righty shot
Michael St. Croix: 5’11”, 180, righty shot
Adam Tambellini: 6’2”, 179, lefty shot

Defensemen:

Mat Bodie: 6’0”, 175, lefty shot
Troy Donnay, 6’7”, 185, righty shot
Ryan Mantha: 6’4”, 225, righty shot
Sam Noreau: 6’5”, 227, righty shot
Dallas Valentine 6’3”, 195, righty shot
Daniel Walcott: 5’11”, 161, lefty shot
Petr Zamorsky: 6’0”, 190, righty shot

Goaltenders:

The Ranger schedule for the 2014 Traverse City Prospects Tournament is as follows:

Following articles will keep you updated on the success of the Rangers Prospects in this Tournament.  If the games are to be televised by MSG, I will update everyone with the time and channel.

Here’s to wishing the young Blueshirt Prospects good luck in Michigan this September.
