Brooklyn, NY – The New York Sharks will be preparing for their upcoming game this week after heading into their bye week on a hot note. The Sharks have had a hot start to the season, winning their first six games.
They hope to continue their success as they will travel to Carolina to take on the Carolina Phoenix (6-0). This is set to be a battle for the ages as both teams on are top of the Independent Women’s Football League’s Atlantic Conference.
With only two games left to play in the regular season, this game has big playoff implications. The winner of this game will most certainly win the conference and head on as a top seed in the playoffs which is why this game is so large for both teams.
The Sharks have only beaten one team over .500 during this six game winning streak which makes this game even more exciting as they look to prove themselves. That should be no issue for the explosive Sharks offense that is led by their quarterback Karen Mulligan.
While the Sharks have shown that they can put points on the board quickly, the Phoenix have shown that they too can put up points and dominant a game. Carolina’s defense has only given up twenty-one points to opposing offenses this year.
This game is being mentioned as one of the games of the week in women’s tackle football. The Sharks would like to get back to the playoffs on a hot note after an early exit last season. The last time both teams met was during the 2014 season with the Sharks winning a close one 29-28.
