Mid-Season Yankees Minor League All-Star Team

Major League Baseball and many of the minor leagues are approaching their respective All-Star breaks. We took a look through the minor league affiliates of the New York Yankees and came up with what would be our Yankees Minor League All-Star team.

The Starters

C – Gary Sanchez (Double-A Trenton) – The top catching prospect is currently hitting .274 with 17 doubles, nine home runs and has driven in 44 runs through 72 games this season for the Trenton Thunder.

1B – Kyle Roller (Double-A Trenton / Triple-A Scranton) – Roller has split time at the upper levels of the Yankees farm system this season and has hit a combined .310 with 18 doubles and 17 home runs. He has driven in 49 runs so far.

2B – Robert Refsnyder (Double-A Trenton / Triple-A Scraton) – Refsnyder has appeared in 89 games between Double-A and Triple-A this season and is hitting .335 with 25 doubles, six triples, and 11 home runs. He’s driven in 43.

SS – Tyler Wade (Single-A Charleston) – Wade is hitting .264 with 13 doubles and four triples through 81 games. He’s also stolen 13 bases.

3B – Dante Bichette Jr (Single-A Tampa) – The 3B/OF is hitting .281 with 20 doubles and seven home runs while driving in 50 runs through 85 games.

OF – Ben Gamel (Double-A Trenton) – Gamel has been one of the systems most consistent hitters this season, batting .285 (105 hits), including 24 doubles, three triples, and two home runs. He has safely stolen 10 of 14 base stealing attempts.

OF – Aaron Judge (Single-A Tampa) – Judge has appeared at two Single-A levels this season and is making a name for himself, batting .318 with 17 doubles, four triples, and 12 home runs. He has 60 RBI in 84 games.

OF – Zoilo Almonte (Triple-A Scranton) – Almonte is batting .279 on the season for Scranton with 11 doubles and 13 home runs. He has driven in 47 runs so far. Almonte has appeared in ten games for the New York Yankees as well this season.

DH – Peter O’Brien (Single-A Tampa / Double-A Trenton) – After tearing up Single-A with a .321 batting average and ten home runs in 30 games, O’Brien was promoted to Trenton. He is batting .266 this season between the two levels but what stands out most are his power numbers. He has hit 17 doubles, two triples, and a system leading 28 home runs while driving in 61.

The Reserves

Jose Pirela (Triple-A Scranton) – Batting .317 with 14 doubles, four triples, and seven home runs.

Zelous Wheeler (Triple-A Scranton) – In 66 games for Scranton, Wheeler hit .299 with 20 doubles and seven home runs. He drove in 31 runs as well. He was recently promoted to the New York Yankees and has hit .214 through seven games.

Adonis Garcia (Triple-A Scranton) – The outfielder is batting .303 with 13 doubles and six home runs through 59 games this season.

Taylor Dugas (Double-A Trenton / Triple-A Scranton) – Dugas is hitting a combined .297 between the two leagues this season, including 13 doubles, six triples, and one home run.

Jake Cave (Single-A Tampa) – The outfielder is batting .307 with 16 doubles, four triples, and three home runs through 85 games. He has stolen eight bases.

The Pitchers

Luis Severino (Single-A Charleston / Single-A Tampa) – Success at both Single-A levels. Severino is a combined 4-3 with a 2.45 ERA through 18 starts. He is struck out 98 batters in 88.1 innings pitched.

Matt Tracy (Double-A Trenton / Triple-A Scranton) – Tracy has appeared in 18 games, including 17 starts. He is 8-4 with a 3.25 ERA this season between the two levels.

Dan Camarena (Single-A Tampa / Double-A Trenton) – Between the two levels, Camarena is a combined 5-6 with a 2.62 ERA.

Miguel Sulbaran (Single-A Tampa) – Sulbaran has appeared in 13 games, including 11 starts. He sits at 1-1 with a 2.33 ERA and has struck out 51 batters in 69.2 innings this season.

Brady Lail (Single-A Charleston) – The right-hander is 7-4 with a 3.82 ERA this season while striking out 88 in 92 innings.
