Megan Waelz Named Director of Marketing & Sales for DoubleGSports.com
DoubleGSports.com continues to make moves to grow it’s brand. The latest addition to the staff is Megan Waelz who has been hired as the website’s Director of Marketing & Sales. The hire is further proof of the ambition and vision the staff has as the sports website looks toward further growth.
Waelz, 20, is entering her senior year at Rutgers University where she majors in Journalism and Media Studies with a Digital Communication, Information and Media minor. She has excellent experience in many aspects of today’s media as she also works as a Content Creator at the digital media marketing agency, Today’s Business. Megan’s wide array of experience and knowledge will greatly benefit DoubleGSports.com.
In addition to her knowledge, creativity, and determination, Megan’s belief in the website and it’s brand are what ultimately led her to landing the position. She is excited about the opportunity and already has some big plans.
“I’d really like to take Double G to the next level when it comes to an audience by getting sponsors excited about the brand and continuing to spread the word,” said Waelz. “I would love to see it grow and become a go-to spot for local sports news.”
“It will bring in so much more exposure,” she continued. “With sponsors that learn about the brand and are excited to get involved, word of mouth will continue to spread. At the same time, we will also begin to create a strategy that promotes and markets the site to our new and existing viewers that will make it larger than ever.”
The administrative staff at DoubleGSports.com is excited to have Megan on board.
“We are extremely excited to have Megan join our staff and take over our Director of Marketing & Sales department,” stated website founder and CEO Gregg Snyder. “Megan’s go-getter type attitude and personality is exactly what we were looking for. We are going to give Megan the reigns to our Marketing & Sales programs and let her lead the way.”
So what can readers and potential sponsors expect?
“Readers can expect to see much more promotion of the site through other outlets such as social media,” Megan explained. “This will become a larger and highly trusted source of news for our viewers and new fans. Due to this, we will also be seeing an improvement in content all around as we continue to grow and expand.”
The enthusiasm Waelz has for her new role is expected to fit in nicely with the current staff at DoubleGSports.com. “I picture myself fitting in with an awesome team of people who are excited and interested in the local sports and all aspects that they involve,” she said. “They’re proud of the brand and what they report on, so it should be fun to work with a group of like-minded team members. As someone with great interest in the tri-state area’s sports, I have the same desires for the brand as all of the writers and everyone involved in the existing site.”
In addition to her interests in sports, journalism, and marketing, Megan is a member of the Rutgers University Dance Team and a volunteer at a local animal shelter that she has helped out at since high school.
DoubleGSports.com is excited to have Megan join the staff and continue to help build a brand that is already on the way up. Waelz officially began her new role with the website on Monday, August 18.
