Meet Lindsay Payne – Host of New Web Series, Overtime

by Gregg Snyder | Posted on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014

In the next couple weeks, DoubleGSports.com is set to launch a brand new web series title, ‘Overtime.’ The show will have a sports theme, featuring athletes, teams, venues, and so much more.

The host of Overtime is Lindsay Payne, a junior at Rutgers University.

Before viewing the first show, which is expected to air on DoubleGSports.com as well as the site’s YouTube channel on Friday, May 2, we thought you should get to know a little bit about Lindsay and find out what you can expect from this new series.

Lindsay took some time to answer a view questions that should help you get a feel for her as a person and her personality. She is currently busy preparing for the first show taping later this week.

Hosting…How did you get into this field?

I got into the television/hosting field when I was approached by my television teacher, my freshman year in high school. He had explained to me he saw a talent and a future for me on camera. Since then, I trusted his advice and I have been involved with lots of opportunities. I fall more in love with the field every day.

What is your favorite part of this work?

My favorite part of being on camera is that I am doing something I love while being myself! It’s always an amazing feeling knowing I don’t have to try and impress, I go out there and don’t have to fake it. I also love making my dad proud, he is my biggest supporter!

What when through your mind when you were approached by DoubleGSports.com about hosting their new show?

When I was approached by DoubleGSports, I was honored that they wanted to offer me an amazing opportunity! I also was extremely happy they wanted my opinions and ideas to help construct the show for viewers.

Overtime – What can viewers expect from you and the show as a whole?

Overtime is going to be a show where I will inform you of all sports related media, however, I will completely be myself. I decided against serious, hard new years ago because it took away from my on-camera personality. I like to make things fun and light, so that’s what you can expect!

If you could host the show anywhere you wanted, where would you choose and why?

If I could host the show anywhere I wanted, it would have to be Derek Jeter’s house. He is my favorite athlete and I would love to get the scoop on him from a personal setting. Can we make this happen?

Favorite Sport?

Growing up with a dad and a brother has led me to many sporting events. I was dragged to so many wrestling matches, football games, baseball games, and soccer tournaments. You name it, I have been there. I can’t put my finger on my favorite sport. I’ve been to a million baseball games, was a versity statistician for football for four years and I played basketball when I was younger. I love it all!

Favorite Food?

I love food, cheeseburgers are my guilty pleasure. BUT if I am at a sporting event, a nice stadium hotdog from Yankee Stadium will hit the spot.

Are you more of a “Go out and party” type or do you prefer to stay in?

There is nothing I love more than staying in and goofing around with my siblings. However, if I am at school (Rutgers) you can definitely find me out on the town. I am enjoying my college experience while I still can.

If you were to interview yourself, what question would you ask to dig up information and why?

Can you ask a more difficult question? I think a good thing to know about me is that I have a motivation, a goal, and a reason for anything and everything I do. If I’m going home for a surprise visit, my goal is “What can I do to make my siblings smile?” If I am doing something for my future, you better believe there was an experience in my life that pushed me there. If you want to know what inspires me, you have to know that I do everything to make my dad proud, he’s my best friend. I have a lot of reasons for things.
