The rebranding of Impact Wrestling has provided the company with a lot of opportunities in the pro wrestling world. They recently started a working relationship with Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling Noah. It appears that they are looking to continue to grow in an effort to become a hot commodity once again.
Impact Wrestling sent out a press release stating a partnership with Mexico’s Lucha Libre AAA promotion. The new relationship between the two companies would allow talents to work together in various ways. It is perfect timing considering AAA will celebrate its 25th anniversary while Impact celebrates its 15th.
According to the new deal, both companies will have talent represented at their biggest shows – Impact’s Slammiversary and AAA’s Triplemania. Thats not all however. Both promotion’s have planned a co-branded tour in the Fall, and they will also work together to expand distribution on both fronts. This is a huge way for both companies to benefit in and outside the ring.
In the press release, Impact Wrestling president Ed Norholm discussed the significance of this new deal. He stated:
“We are thrilled to forge this alliance with AAA, a company rooted in tradition, as we continue to grow our network of global partners, which also includes Japan’s Pro-Wrestling NOAH. This alliance is an important step in our international expansion strategy, bringing together the best performers around the globe as we take IMPACT Wrestling to the next level.”
It will be interesting to see the results of this relationship. With Impact Wrestling expanding once again, 2017 continues to be an interesting time for professional wrestling. Lets see if both them and AAA can benefit from this.
