When the UFC goes abroad to the Netherlands, the card will feature some American flavor. Desmond Green returns to the octagon to face Rustam Khabilov in a lightweight bout at UFC Fight Night: Struve vs. Volkov (UFCFN 115). Here is hoping Green will pack his passport.
Desmond Green (20-5), the Rochester native, last fought at UFC 210 in Buffalo, NY where he fought and beat Josh Emmett. He has won five fights in a row dating back to his days in Titan FC. When he was in Bellator he had a mini-streak going as well. It appears that Green is comfortable as a lightweight in the UFC, which could be dangerous to some contenders.
What would happen if Green was to win this fight? The possibilities are endless.
The 27-year old has his work cut out for him. Khabilov (21-3) has won four straight fights and all of his victories have come via unanimous decision. He last fought at UFC 206 when he beat Jason Saggo. The 30-year old Russian looks to be up to the challenge.
UFC Fight Night: Struve vs. Volkov will take place on September 2nd at the Ahoy Rotterdam Arena in the Netherlands. You can watch the event on UFC Fight Pass.
