It certainly was nothing like the pandemonium that occured after the Rutgers football team defeated Louisville in 2006, but as the buzzer sounded the Rutgers student section celebrated on the court. This was the Scarlet Knights first win over a ranked team since February 14, 2010 when they defeated then No. 7 Georgetown at home.
Yesterday was National Signing Day! In the future, when people think of Rutgers Football and the moments that pushed this program to the next level, February 2, 2011 may be one of those days.
While not completed just yet, as National Signing Day approaches, the 2011 Rutgers Football recruiting class is one of the best ever at the school.
Rutgers University got a verbal commitment that could bring the football program to the next level. Don Bosco Prep senior quarterback Gary Nova tweeted his intentions Monday morning.
After two seasons, Tom Savage has gone from face of the program to transfer. One of the school's most heralded recruits in history has decided to transfer, the school announced on Saturday. It is not yet determined where Savage will play next season.
Tonight's final non-conference matchup will be a big test to see where this team stands. After tonight's matchup against North Carolina, Rutgers will begin it's Big East schedule.
