Through this up and down season that has had every member of the Knicks organization on the hot seat at one point, the team has started to gel and is making one last final playoff push. The Knicks are currently on a seven game winning streak that has pulled them to within four games of the eighth seed Atlanta Hawks and four and a half games behind the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Knicks’ remaining schedule starts off relatively easy, but does not stay that way. The next four teams have records of at least 16 games under .500. This can possibly extend the Knicks winning streak to eleven. Then, in the remaining ten games, only one team will have a record of under .500.

These tough games include Phoenix and Golden State out west, then Brooklyn and Toronto twice, Miami, Chicago and Washington. Nobody ever said this was going to be an easy task, but with the way the Knicks have been playing as of late, they should be able to pull out some wins against these playoff bound teams.

The Atlanta Hawks, who currently are holding the 8th seed for the playoffs, let the Knicks creep back into the race by losing 14 of 15 games in February and early March. Now, the team has Paul Millsap back from injury and they are on a 5 game winning streak.

The Charlotte Bobcats have currently lost 2 games in a row, and might be the best way the Knicks can sneak into the playoffs. The next 3 games for the Bobcats are against Portland, Houston and Brooklyn, who are all heading to the playoffs and have the potential to make a significant run to the NBA Finals. A three game losing streak, combined with some Knicks wins against weak opponents, can help the Knicks get themselves into the playoffs.

There have only been two teams that made the playoffs after being more than 5 games back with less than 25 games left. The Knicks are trying to make history, and right now, momentum is on their side.
