Double G Sports has developed an excellent team of writers. This group of talented individuals are the ones bringing you all the latest news, rumors, and opinions. Need NY/NJ sports coverage, our Double G Sports writers have it.

The Lead Writers

Dante Vassallo – (New York Rangers)

Dante Vassallo is a full-time educator with an intense passion for hockey. He is a dedicated father of two, who volunteers his time as a youth ice hockey coach in Southern New Jersey. Dante is a regular contributor to doublegsports.com, where he covers the NY Rangers and happenings in the NHL, as well as examiner.com/philadelphia where he works as the Philadelphia Hockey Examiner.

Elizabeth DiPietro – (New York Yankees)

Elizabeth is a teacher by day, sports fan by night.  In her spare time, she can usually be found watching her favorite teams, the Yankees, Knicks, and Jets, with her husband Dave. She has a master’s of arts in creative writing from CUNY Queens College, and enjoys various kinds of exercise like yoga, Zumba, and spinning.  She is very excited to write more articles for Double G Sports!

Darius Amos – (New York Liberty, New Jersey Nets)

A lifelong New Yorker, Darius is no stranger to sports in this region. After graduating from the University at Buffalo in 2000, he spent the past 10 years with the publications of North Jersey Media Group. As an editor and writer, Darius’ work has garnered more than three dozen awards from various professional media organizations in New Jersey. His writing and photographs have also been published in The New York Times and The Record (Bergen County, N.J.). He is a die-hard Knicks and Jets fan, and though he roots for the Yankees, he is devoted to the San Francisco Giants (and strangely, Barry Bonds). He joins Double G Sports, primarily covering the New York Liberty.

Stephen Zimkouski – (New York Knicks)

Stephen is a 21 year old from Forest Hills, Queens. He is a former Yankee Stadium intern who is currently studying at West Virginia University. Stephen who will be covering the Knicks for Double G Sports, also follows the New York Giants, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, and West Virginia Mountaineers. His favorite athlete is Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks.
