San Diego Chargers +10.5 @ Denver Broncos -10.5 over/under 56.5
It’s tough to bet against Peyton Manning and the Broncos at home considering they are undefeated there. But, the Chargers are playing very well and Manning will not have his check down/slot guy Wes Welker. The Broncos defense has given up 87 points in the last three contests, so there is bound to be plenty of points scored in this one. I see a high scoring, lead changing game this Thursday night, I think the Broncos win but the Chargers keep it close. If anything, I would bet the over.
Washington Redskins +7 @ Atlanta Falcons -7 over/under 50
With RG3 shut down for the season, Redskins will roll with Kirk Cousins, a player that I think is extremely underrated. The Skins lost 5 straight coming into Atlanta this week. Atlanta is 2-9 in their last 11 games, but are somehow 7 point favorites. RED FLAG. Atlanta’s 30th ranked rush defense will try and stop Washington’s 2nd ranked rushing attack, albeit without RG3. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Cousin’s play well and see the Redskins win this game outright, although I’ll give it to Atlanta by a field goal at home. I’ll take the points with the Redskins all day. Upset Alert*
San Francisco 49ers -5 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers +5 over/under 41
After an intense, physical win last week over their division rival Seahawks, what type of bounce back game should we expect on the road from the 49ers? A winning one. Tampa Bay has won 4 out of their last 5 games, and does a good job stopping the run. We will witness the two worst passing attacks in the NFL, coupled with stingy defenses. Low-scoring, don’t like the 5 point spread, but I do like 49ers to win a tight one.
49ers-20 Buccaneers- 16
Arizona Cardinals -3 @ Tennessee Titans +3 over/under 41.5
Chris Johnson will have nowhere to run against the stout run defense of the Cardinals. That leaves it all up to Ryan Fitzpatrick to bounce back from a big loss last week to the Broncos. I don’t think he has the magic this time. Cards win it, and cover.
New Orleans Saints -5.5 @ St. Louis Rams +5.5 over/under 47
I really like the Saints to keep the momentum rolling this week, even outside of their Superdome. Mismatch of the day – Drew Brees vs. Kellen Clemens. Woof. The Rams have some great pass rushers on defense, Robert Quinn, Chris Long etc. Can they do enough to carry their team to victory over this high flying Saints team? No, and that’s a flat out no. Saints win and cover.
Houston Texans +6 @ Indianapolis Colts -6 over/under 46
Texans have lost 11 straight games. A lot of them came down to the wire and Houston was right there, but couldn’t make the big play to win it. They will be visiting their division rival Colts this week in Indianapolis. The Texans Boast the 2nd best pass defense in the league, and is bound to give Andrew Luck problems all day. Their run defense is vulnerable though, something the Colts are going to have to take advantage of if they want to win this one. I’m not going near this game, but I THINK the Colts squeak out a sloppy win.
Buffalo Bills -2 @ Jacksonville Jaguars +2 over/under 43
The Jags are home and getting points and have won 3 out of their last 4 games. The Bills are notorious for finding ways to lose games. When you don’t know what to say or do when two awful teams play each other, go with the home/getting points/hot team. I like the over in this one too, especially in a teaser. Wouldn’t hurt to buy a point for the Jags and throw them in a parlay.
New England Patriots -2 @ Miami Dolphins +2 over/under 45.5
It’s December, AKA Tom Brady month. He will be Gronk-less for the rest of the season but he has an uncanny ability to make you forget about star players when they go down with injury. I certainly won’t be betting against Brady this month or for the rest of this year while we’re at it. The Pat’s last 3 games, all wins, have been decided by a total of 7 points. That indicates this will be a tight one, especially on the road against a division opponent. I like the Patriots to find a way to win.
Seattle Seahawks -7 @ New York Giants +7 over/under 43
The Giants will have their hands full taking on the Seahawks after losing to the 49ers last week. I’ll tell you who I wouldn’t bet on in this game; the Giants. The Seahawks should win this one convincingly, but just when you stick a fork in the Giants and think they packed it in, they sometimes surprise you, and make you lose a lot of money. Not touching this one.
Philedelphia Eagles -4.5 @ Minnesota Vikings +4.5 over/under 51
The Vikings have been playing some surprisingly close games lately. The Eagles have won 5 straight games with Nick Foles under center. I think the Vikings, although without AP, will make this much more of a game than the Eagles hope for. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Vikings pull off the upset. I smell a TRAP GAME for flawless Foles. A lot of points will be scored in this one as well.
New York Jets +11 @ Carolina Panthers -11 over/under 40.5
I just don’t like the looks of this game; I’m not going near it. My unconfident prediction-Panthers win in a blowout, Geno Smith gets benched at some point, and Panthers show their Monday night loss to the Saints was not a tribute to their team, but to the Superdome that eats opposing teams alive.
Kansas City Chiefs -4 @ Oakland Raiders +4 over/under 41
I think the Chiefs get a much needed division win in this one, and cover the spread. I really, really like the Chiefs this week.
Cincinnati Bengals -2.5 @ Pittsburgh Steelers +2.5 over/under 41
I like Cincy to win by a field goal in a low scoring, typical AFC North division affair. Cut and dry.
Baltimore Ravens +6 @ Detroit Lions -6 over/under 48
Monday night matchup is a pretty good one. Baltimore is heating up down the stretch winning 3 straight games, and the Lions always play crazy, exciting football; win or lose. Points will be scored, and the ball will be in the air an awful lot. The Ravens are a terrible road team, 1-5 on the year. I’ll take the lions with the points to win by a touchdown.
There is currently no line for the Bears/Browns or Packers/Cowboys games, considering uncertainty at quarterback. I can tell you I like the Bears and Cowboys to win straight up, regardless of QB.
Parlay of the Week* Teaser 3 team 10 point
Chiefs (buy 1 point) -3 Texans +16
Saints -5.5 Over 46 Chargers/Broncos
Cardinals-3 Chargers +20.5
