DoubleGSports.com Writers Make World Series Predictions

St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox.
That is your 2013 World Series matchup. The final two teams standing, one will be crowned MLB World Series Champion. Game one was last night at Fenway Park in Boston. The Red Sox came away with the win to take the early advantage in the series.
Prior to Game 1, the DoubleGSports.com staff was asked to make their predictions.
Four out of six staff members are going with the Cardinals. DoubleGSports.com President and Jessica Guerra (Montclair St. and Lakewood BlueClaws writer) are the two that have Boston winning.
Let’s see what each staff member predicts:
Gregg Snyder (President)
Boston takes this series. Their pitching staff will overpower the St. Louis lineup. While the Sox’s offense has had it’s ups and downs, I think we can expect a big hit from David Ortiz or Dustin Pedroia when the team needs it most. The late inning bullpen is rock solid. Boston in 5. Jon Lester wins MVP with two stellar performances on the mound.
Denis Devaux (Connecticut Sports Writer)
Cardinals in six games. Carlos Beltran wins the MVP. The Cardinals bullpen is going to be the difference in this series.
Breanna Casey (Rutgers Athletics Writer)
My prediction is St. Louis in seven games. I think either Wainwright or Beltran for MVP. Boston masked their offensive struggles largely feasting off a poor Tigers bullpen. The Cards power arms in the bullpen in back of ace Adam Wainwright and emergent superstar Michael Wacha will be the difference in an otherwise even match up.
Jessica Guerra (Montclair St and Lakewood BlueClaws Writer)
I believe the Red Sox will be winning this series. The series will be a close one, however the Red Sox will only lose around two games. MVP will be Koji Uehara because he is one phenomenal closer. The Red Sox had a few rough patches in the series against Detroit, however with a great lineup in the bullpen, and a handful of hitters they will be dominant.

St. Louis in six games with Craig as MVP….I refuse to pick the Red Sox.
Anthony Rodriguez (Rutgers Athletics Writer)
I have the Cardinals winning the series in six. I think Carlos Beltran will win the MVP. This is a team that knows how to win in October. If it weren’t for a Giants come back in the 2012 NLCS, we may be looking at a three-peat. Beltran will come up big and get his first World Series victory. Cardinals in six.
