The September Issue of all fashion magazines is the most important issue of the year and can take up to twelve months to put together. September issues were once only important in the advertising world but since the famous documentary chronicling Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour’s preparations for the 2007 fall-fashion issue, called The September Issue, readers have also increased their interest.
Magazines vie to book major celebrities upwards of a year in advance to accommodate their busy schedules and jostle for ad page dollars. Condé Nast announced September 2013 as it’s biggest in five years, with Vogue leading the way with 665 ad pages in a 902 page magazine. Despite the growth, magazine subscriptions have gone down, with most consumers favoring online magazines instead. With that in mind and “tongue in cheek”, I thought it would be fund a create a “Mock Fashion-Sports September Issue” cover for Double G Sports, a “mini” photo shoot with great looks for Fall 2013 and a behind the scenes “diary”.
With the close of Fashion Week 2013, a celebrity stylist and fashion designer gives a glimpse of how to mix and match runway and street styles to create fresh new looks for fall 2013 “Street Chic – Keepin’ it Real”.
