Princeton, N.J. - Connor Michelsen and Quinn Epperly certainly were the centers of attention Saturday for the Princeton Tigers, especially in the first half.
Michelsen looked to be in the zone hitting his targets left and right. He finished the night going 19-of-32 for 210 yards, but could not get the ball in the end zone. Epperly also looked sharped going 6-of-8 for 100 yards, including a 57-yard pass early in the second half to get the crowd on its feet. He threw one touchdown pass to Roman Wilson who led the team with nine catches for over 168 yards.
Both quarterbacks appear to make coach Bob Surace’s job difficult as both impressed against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. It’s hard to say what Surace will do next week against the Hoyas. However, both should expect to get some big playing time next week and will most likely be used alot when they open the Ivy League schedule two weeks from Saturday.
Both Epperly and Michelsen hope to make Surace a happy man this season by trying to take home an Ivy League Title. But they’ll have to snatch it away from the defending Ivy League Champion Pennsylvania Quakers. Hopefully for Surace and his Tigers the journey officially stars for them in DC.
