Seton Hall Women’s Soccer Weekend Recap against Princeton & Delaware
Added by Anne Chavez on September 17, 2013.
Seton Hall women’s soccer is off to a rocky start, losing or tying all games but one. On Friday, the women took on Princeton at home. Princeton was already 2-0-1 on the season before heading to South Orange. The Pirates have lost all of their road games and it is the first match back at home since their 2-0 win against Army back on August 30.
No one from either team could score, leading the game to double overtime. However, even with the extra time, the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
Goalkeeper Jennifer Pettigrew entered the night as the BIG EAST leader in saves. In this game against Princeton, she had six saves and now has a total of 37 on the season.
On Sunday, the Pirates were on the road again heading to Delaware to take on the Blue Hens. The game remained scoreless until Delaware scored at the 54-minute mark.
Trailing by one, senior Marie Klemme found her chance and tucked a free kick into the top left corner to even the score 1-1, but Delaware would score yet again. The Pirates lost 2-1, and are now 1-5-2 on the season.
