On Thursday, September 12th, a record was broken after 224 Montclair State student athletes, staff, coaches, and members of the campus community took part in its 8th annual charity three-mile event around the Cedar Grove Reservoir.
The race shaped exceptional results, and even produced a significant amount of funds that were donated to the Essex County Special Olympics.
The top men’s finisher was junior track and field star, Nicholas Kral, who finished the course in 17 minutes and 41 seconds. Serena Hitchins, who is a sophomore for women’s lacrosse, was the top women’s finisher. She finished the course in 19 minutes and :05 seconds. This was Hitchins’ second straight year coming in first for the women.
