It was announced on Monday morning that junior forward, Francesca Gibson of Montclair State, was named NJAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
A native of Cape May, NJ, Gibson has earned this honorable award after recording six points in a 2-0 week of play for the Red Hawks, who are currently ranked at number 22. She started her season off right, after netting a goal during Montclair’s non-conference home 9-0 win against Purchase. However, Gibson did not stop there. Just three days later, she added a pair of goals, which also included a game winner in the 5-0 victory against Centenary.
Not only is Gibson tied for first in the NJAC in goals per game, but she also moved into sixth place on the Montclair State career list for goals with 28. Gibson also tied Jess Amendola (2002-2005) for ninth place for points with 61.
