Despite jokes from NFL reps about Miley Cyrus, who may or may not make an appearance in the show, neither the NFL nor Fox would comment on the rumors. An announcement as to who the halftime headliner will actually be could be ready as soon as next weekend.
Mars is no Beyonce or Madonna, however the singer/songwriter does, somehow have the star power to sell out tours, minus all the fun stuff a super bowl halftime show usually entails, like fireworks and minimal clothing (see: Janet Jackson). But, if the NFL and Fox are looking for a relatively safe act for live, basic cable television, Bruno Mars will definitely be a safe bet.
But where’s the fun in that?
