The New York Giants were not looking their best last night in their second preseason game of the year. The final score was 20-12 in favor of the Indianapolis Colts.
Giants head coach, Tom Coughlin, had some injuries that he and the team had to deal with this game. He lost his center David Baas who suffered from a sprained knee, and wide receiver Victor Cruz who has a bruised heel. Both of them did have X- rays done but thankfully they came back negative.
Coughlin mentioned that Cruz jammed his heel pretty hard and is now sore. This could result in a serious injury, but Coughlin did not yet want to come out and say that. Cruz is going to continue having tests done, and hopefully he will be healed by September 8th so he can play in their first regular season game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Hakeem Nicks was a key player last night. He had two 20-yard receptions.
Overall, the Giants need to focus on getting some of their key players healthy again. Also, they need to work on their passing game. Eli Manning was 10-for-22 for 164 yards, and one interception. He was looking a little sloppy but hopefully he shapes up for the season.
