The New York Giants reinforced the interior defensive line on Sunday, signing Cullen Jenkins to a three-year, eight million dollar deal. Jenkins was released by an Eagles’ team looking to free up some cap space, saving four million dollars by cutting the veteran.
The Giants gain a productive veteran at a reasonable price to add to their defensive line rotation, offsetting the loss of Chris Canty. Jenkins brings versatility to the table, with experience at both tackle and as a 3-4 defensive end, as well as experience with opposing NFC East teams. His interior pass rushing skills can go a long way in freeing up defensive ends for Big Blue.
