Following Scott Klimchak’s impressive ten-point performance last week, the junior became the second Rutgers lacrosse player to receive Big East Honors.
The Clark, New Jersey native acted as the teams leading scorer, racking up five points against Wagner with four goals and an assist and a total of five goals at UMBC.
Although Klimchak takes great pride in being given such a prestigious award, his main focus remains on the overall mission of the team as a whole.
“It feels great to be on the honor roll but it would be even better if we beat UMBC.” Klimchak humbly stated.
Klimchak’s athletic milestones also help pave the way for underclassmen that are gaining more and more of a role within the Scarlet squad.
“I feel like it’s good to be a role model for the younger guys that are being asked to step up and contribute with some of the veteran players.” Klimchak added.
Klimchak will add to his fantastic statistics as his Knights take the home field against Stony Brook on Saturday, March 2nd at 1 PM.
