The WNBA and New York Liberty released their 2013 regular season schedule yesterday and a couple matchups stand out. The Liberty have a new head coach in Bill Laimbeer. The great basketball mind is also the teams new general manager.
The season opener on May 25 will be a rematch of last years Eastern Conference Semifinals as the Liberty will hit the road to battle the Connecticut Sun. New York will open it’s home slate on May 31 when they host the Tulsa Shock at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
This will be the final season the Liberty call the Prudential Center home. They will return to Madison Square Garden in 2014, as the final phase of renovations to The Garden are expected to be completed in fall 2013.
The Liberty will once again be led by star point guard Cappie Pondexter.
The Liberty will have a three game home stand in June and a four game home stand in July. Make sure you get your tickets to catch a game this season.
Liberty courtside season ticket holders will have exclusive access to the Platinum Lounge at Prudential Center, which includes premium seating, complimentary food and beverage offerings and is located on the event level. Season ticket packages are available by calling 212-465-6766 or by visiting NYLiberty.com.
