It only took about an hour, but the NWSL draft has concluded with 32 players drafted to the eight teams that make up the new National Women’s Soccer League which will begin play in early April 2013.
Sky Blue FC picked up four players to add to the seven players they were allocated by the three national soccer federations involved in the forming of the league. Each team received three US national players, two Canadian national players and two Mexican national players leaving each team with a total of 11 players on their rosters so far.
Sky Blues players chosen in the draft are; Lindsi Linsonbee-Cutshal, a defender out of BYU (4th overall), Kendall Johnson, a Midfielder and Defender out of Portland University (8th overall), Ashley Baker, goalie, out of Georgia (20th overall), and Becky Kaplan, forward out of Maryland (28th overall).
