The Brooklyn Nets are set to make their national TV debut since their move to the brand new Barclays Center in Brookyln, NY. The Nets will face the Boston Celtics at home tonight (October 18th) at 8:00pm EST on TNT network.
The Nets are currently undefeated (3-0) during the preseason with wins over the Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards, and the Boston Celtics.
In the last game against the Celtics, PF Mirza Teletovic made a go ahead foul shot with 4.1 seconds left, as the Nets bench players rallied off a comeback from a 12-point deficit to beat the Celtics 97-96.
The Nets first game at the Barclays Center featured a spat between all star point guard Deron Williams and Washington Wizards point guard A.J. Price. In the final minute of Brooklyn’s 98-88 preseason victory, the two got into a somewhat heated shoving match. Price was assessed a flagrant foul for hacking Williams hard as he attempted to finish a layup.
The game tonight should prove to be a good one. The Celtics have a very good team that, like the Nets, features many new players that they are trying to incorporate into the lineup. The newbies include Courtney Lee, Jason Terry, rookies Fab Melo and Jared Sullinger, and Jeff Green who sat out last season due to injury. The Celtics also recently signed point guard Leandro Barbosa, who will serve as a very serviceable backup to all-star Rajon Rondo.
