In case you haven’t noticed, WWE Diva, AJ Lee has been positioned as one of the top faces of the company. Let me say that again, but this time I’ll say it a little slower like you’re a six-year old child – one…of…the…top…faces…of…the…company. Yeah, let that shit sink in for a while.
I’m not here to shoot down a new up and coming talent, and piss all over her hopes and dreams of becoming major star in the wrestling business. The problem that I have is that this individual is not the center of attention in the bid for the WWE title. Yes, THAT WWE title. The one that is considered the top prize in the business.
Other than the legendary feud between Hulk Hogan and Randy “Macho Man” Savage when the mega-powers exploded in the late 80′s and Miss Elizabeth was torn between the two superstars – when has there ever been a purpose to throw a love triangle into the mix when competitors are challenging champions for the title? Creatively speaking – what does this bring to the table? How does it make that match up and feud more engaging?
Sure it’s been tried over the years. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, this guy and that rat, and so on. But how many of them were really worth remembering? Go ahead, I’ll wait….EXACTLY! None of them!
Just as the WWE had started gaining momentum with their product and putting the focus back on building quality stories and producing new talents worthy of shining on the championship scene – it all disappeared in the blink of an eye with the resigning of Brock Lesnar. All logic has since been lost. And for a guy like CM Punk, who spent this time last year on a massive tirade that was set to change the landscape of the business, he has now sold himself out to everything he said he was opposed to. In other words, rather than make wrestling matter again in the WWE Universe, he talked his way into becoming the WWE champion, got a nice pay raise and is nothing but another corporate lacky who sold out his “honor” to be the quasi-face of the company with a shit-eating grin while he performs in some of the most meaningless championship programs in the history of the title. Yeah, I said it!
Take nothing away from AJ Lee, other than the fact that she’s a god awful actress, she brings nothing to the championship picture, and her ratty psycho romance with Daniel Bryan, Kane and CM Punk has done nothing but stink up the product. The championship and the stories surrounding it isn’t worth a cup of warm piss. AJ’s involvement not only takes away from the quality of the matches and the focus of the top performers, but it makes the top guys look like punk ass bitches who let a piece of trim come within an inch of ruining their careers.
Apparently, WWE officials are high on AJ Lee and plan to keep pushing her to the moon. Great for her, but in reality, what’s the point? How does it better the product? As much as she appears to be popular among the WWE Universe, it’s the universe that says she doesn’t belong in the main event and calling her the weakest part of the show. Her backstage promos with Punk, Bryan and Kane are some of the worse acted vignettes I’ve ever seen and it make their reaction as wooden as Hayden Christensen in the Star Wars prequels.
Not to the WWE creative team – perhaps you should be listening to your paying audience instead of the egotistical mark that owns the company.

I agree with everything said here. The whole angle stinks and is currently making the show boring and stale, and the belts seem nonexistent. RAW is currently putting me to sleep. There hasn’t been a decent RAW on since the one after WM where Lesnar returned.
