Ever since Jets mini-camps have ended there has not been a whole lot of exciting news to report about the team. Players have been recovering, such as Stephen Hill and LaRon Landry, and the rest of the team has been prepping themselves for training camp. Having said this here is a variety of news on the New York Jets organization.
Lets get the bad news out of the way first, most of the bad behavior around the league this off-season has been drunk driving, but this was a different case. Jets defensive end, Muhammad Wilkerson, was involved in an automobile accident around 4:30 a.m. in the morning that did not involve alcohol, just careless driving. There were no serious injuries and Wilkerson only needed a few stitches in his forearm. He will not miss any time in training camp.
On a better note Joe Klecko’s son, Josh, has received a full scholarship to play for Rutgers University. Josh is 6-2 235lbs and is said to be undersized for his position, but that never stopped his father or uncle in both college and the NFL. Joe Klecko went to four pro bowls and his older brother, Dan, won three super bowls, so it is doubtful Josh will buy into “he’s too undersized to play”.
Jets fans will be happy to know that the Jets have released their training camp schedule. Camp will again be in Suny Courtland (Here is the address for anyone who wants it, SUNY Cortland: One Folmer Drive, Cortland, NY 13045). Here is the schedule for training camp:
