Hi edred51,

I agree with you about Del Zotto. He needs a new deal now, and the Wideman contract has set an unrealistic standard for defensemen. I am fine with including him in a package. Dubinsky is locked up through the next three seasons at a reasonable 4.2 million per. Granted, that number is only reasonable if he puts up 2010-11 numbers. I don't think he has underachieved. He had a hard time scoring goals this past year, but he was on target in all other areas of his game. Two seasons ago he led the team in scoring and was named to the Rookie All Star Team in his first season in the league. I view him as a 30g 30a 100pim guy in the mold of a Ryan Smyth. That works for me. Are you just done with him? I love the way the Rangers have developed from within recently, and trading a bunch of homegrown players, prospects, and picks for an older star player reminds me too much of the early Sather days. Good to hear from you. Where do you think Parise ends up? Also, if the prcie was the same, would you prefer Nash or Ryan?

If the Rangers can get Nash for Dubinsky, Del Zotto and the right mix of prospects the Rangers will make this move. Even in Dubinsky's best seasons he has been a bit of an underachiever and Del Zotto has never been a stand-out player of any kind. Both players will soon need to be severely overpaid and the Rangers certainly have the prospects to replace both of these players.
