The only goal of the third period was scored at the 11:51 mark. Nick Petriello scored the goal and was assisted by Scampoli. It was a very good game and the first two periods the teams took turns controlling the play. The third period didn’t really have much action and the Aviators were able to score the goal and hold on for the victory.
Adam Dekker takes the loss and St. Pierre gets the win. The Outlaws next game will be against 1000 Islands on the road Thursday night. They will then travel to Cape Cod on Friday night and return home on Saturday night to take on Cape Cod in the back end of a home and home series. The Outlaws still remain in first place in the FHL by 13 points.
The shots were 42-40 in favor of Brooklyn. New Jersey was 0-1 on the powerplay and Brooklyn was 0-5. The attendance was 892 and the game lasted two hours and 27 minutes. The three stars of the game were St. Pierre for Brooklyn as the third star. Cooper for New Jersey as the second star and Petriello for Brooklyn as the first star. Petriello scored the game winning goal. Brooklyn will play their next game Friday at home against Danbury.
Brooklyn has played the Outlaws tough this season. This was their first win at the Ice Vault this season. They have played an overtime and a shootout game so far this season. The Aviators have won the last two meetings between the teams and the time before was the shootout game. The Outlaws and Aviators could possibly meetup in the playoffs and the Outlaws will have to be careful as the Aviators seem to have their number a little of late.
