As we all know, unless you live in a cave, but even now days I think cave dwellers have a clue, there is a Super Bowl among us. For a Jets fan, I am well aware of this and very perplexed by the situation. I truly have a strong disliking for both the Giants and the Patriots.
After the Jets season ended I was the fan that rooted for the team I thought had a better chance of winning – until this point. I need help. As I sit here typing this I am watching Boomer and Carton on MSG and considering the stats they are discussing to assist me in my decision – G-men or Pats.
Both teams have unfortunately won over the Jets. The Patriots even beat them after a two-game losing streak (for the Pats, that’s a streak). The Giants are in their fifth Super Bowl appearance and are 3-1. The Patriots are in their seventh appearance and are 3-3.
As a true Jets fan I am not one of those fans that root for the “New Yorkteam.” But I do have to confess – during the Patriots andGreen Bayplayoff game, although I rooted forGreen Bayall the way, I did consider the fact that the Patriots were being helped along by former Jets players. Eleven-year Jets veteran Shaun Ellis signed a one year deal with the Patriots (he claims the Jets have no loyalty); safety James Ihedigbo; and our biggest loss running back and one of Brady’s go-to guys Danny Woodhead. Needless to say I developed a soft spot for the Patriots. Once again, the Brady Bunch turned to the Jets for support, and succeed. I cheered for the winning team again.
I am an only child and do not like to share. For years the now Metlife Stadium has been named Giants Stadium. Why do the Jets have to share? Even though the facility is spectacular, I still think the Jets deserve their own place of play. That is just one of my grudges against the Giants.
My friends and family are shunning me because of my reasoning. I am accepting Mark’s third year as water under the bridge. There is always next year, and our new coaches will make ensure a success story.
What is a Jet fan to do? What are you doing out there?? Although I am wish-washy, I think this Sunday I will remain in the neutral zone and enjoy the beer, food, and festivities.
Go Jets.

Hate the Pats and especially Belichik with a passion. Watching him and Brady lift the Lombardi trophy would be torture for me…Go Giants…from a Jets season tix holder.
