So the granddaddy of the NFL season culminates in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 5th. Not only do fans look forward to the last brawl on the turf but also the special commercials, and not to mention the half time show. While the New York Giants and the New England Patriots are taking a well deserved break to regroup, millions of fans will be entertained by the woman the Guinness Book of Record dubbed the “World’s top selling female recording artist,” the “Material Girl” herself- Madonna.
This event is not one in which you can get concert tickets, so you will have to pony up the big bucks to get a ticket to the big game, or watch from the comfort of your own home.
Word on the street is that some of today’s hottest acts will also be joining her, rumored as such is Nicki Minaj among others. Madonna will have the services of Jamie King, a creative director she’s known for ages to put the show together. Although the half time show is less than fifteen minutes, Madonna is expected to deliver a spectacular show left to the imagination.
However, Madonna is not an entertainer without controversy. Those who have followed her career are well aware that she knows just how to cause a media stir with her music, performances and her videos. When she came out with her pop album “Like a Virgin” in 1984, she rattled the cages of many somewhat with that song but the upside was that she gained global recognition. Another single on that same album, “Material Girl” is what she is known as.
Another one of those controversial instances one can recall is the 2003 MTV Music Awards when she kissed Britney Spears on the mouth during a performance. So fans can be prepared for just about anything from one of the “greatest woman of the video era,” another title she bears.
Madonna is a pop culture icon who left Michigan to pursue her dream in New York with only $35 to her name in the mid seventies, a risk that worked out for her. She is ageless, with the body of a goddess and she re-invents herself time and time again to stay in the spotlight. All eyes will be on Madonna at half time and with eager anticipation her fans await.
