1. Can Eli Manning carry the Giants to a championship?
I think this is a pretty easy question and the answer is, yes, because he already has. The Giants won the Super Bowl with him as QB in 2007. He has had a great year and pretty much single handedly led them to the postseason this year. Manning said in preseason he is an elite QB that could be compared to guys such as Brady, he was criticized for that and mocked at a little also. I think Manning is having the last laugh now as he had an MVP type season and his team is in the postseason which most couldn’t have believed a few weeks ago.
2. How big of a factor is the Giants pass rush and defensive line?
I think this is a great question to ask. The Giants defense has been a problem all year but they
finally have their main pass rushers all playing together. Justin Tuck, Jason Pierre-Paul and Osi Umenyiora are all healthy and playing together and you can’t possibly stop all of them for a whole game. They are beasts to keep away from the quarterback and that is the main reason the Giants won the Super Bowl in 2007. I believe they will have the same philosophy this year in the postseason. They are ready to unleash the hounds and watch out. To answer the question directly I think the pass rush will be a huge factor for the Giants and in a good way. If they aren’t a big factor then the Giants are in trouble.
3. How vulnerable is the Giants secondary?
I think they are very vulnerable. They lost Terrel Thomas in the preseason and that really hurt but they haven’t been good at all this year. The main problem though is the Giants pass rush wasn’t doing what they are accustomed to doing and the secondary will be much better when that pass rush is getting after the quarterback. I think the secondary is very vulnerable and can be exposed at any time but if that pass rush is going and you continue to try and pass against the Giants you could be in for a rough day.
