Rex and Jets, Ready to Take Center Stage
Added by Marvin Turner on August 14, 2011.
Its only fitting that Rex Ryan and the New York Jets get to play the last game of the first preseason week, opening up Monday Night Football for the 2011 season. Rex Ryan is excited and ready for his 2011 Jets to take the field and showcase to the rest of the teams in the league, teams that will be home watching the blitz happy Jets, as they set the stage for what plans to be a Super Bowl run in 2011.
Expect to see Mark Sanchez and the offensive starters play at least a half. However, if the offense can come out in the first two drives and show consistent drives, along with offensive balance, Sanchez and the first unit could earn a short night.
Jets fans should get ready to see rookie QB out of Alabama, Greg McElroy.. McElroy should show great control and command as he steps under center for the Jets, again, expect a good showing from this young kid.
Keep a close eye on the wide receiver’s. Rex and his staff will be looking to find out who will step up in that area. No one really knows if Plaxico Burress will be healthy to play a full season, and if that becomes the case, someone will have to step up during these preseason games. If the Jets do not see any progress from the young receiver’s, its very possible they could look to sign a free agent buy the 3rd preseason game.
Its time to get the season started… J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!!
