Things are heating up in baseball’s winter meetings. Lets take a look at some of the latest:
- The three way blockbuster deal bringing Curtis Granderson to the Yankees that was announced yesterday is not yet finalized. Apparently Ian Kennedy’s medical report is holding it up. Still looks like it should be finalized soon.
- Andy Pettitte is back with the Yankees. The two sides have come to a contract agreement. The Yankees will pay the veteran lefty starter $11.75 million in this one year contract.
- The Yankees and Mets have both checked in on outfielders Mike Cameron and Marlon Byrd.
- The Mets seem to be feeling a deal of Luis Castillo is unlikely.
- It is being reported the Mets are close to offering catcher Bengie Molina a two year contract worth about $12 million.
- The Mets are interested in 5 starting pitchers: John Lackey, Joel Pineiro, Jason Marquis, Jon Garland, and Doug Davis.
- Darren Oliver, former Angels reliever, is receiving interest from the Mets.
